Each year for Mandela Day, Sally Witbooi rallies together her friends and family to raise funds for Biblionef’s book donations programme. This year, with the help of 50 individuals, she was able to raise R5 500 in support of our mission!

An incredible spinoff from this initiative is that one of the donors, Ronald Arendse, shared the initiative with his friends and family and urged them to support the cause and as a result, additional donations came streaming in. The final amount raised was R 6 668.00!

We have donated 9 570 Sesotho class readers to 158 schools from 5 districts in the Free State. The funds raised have contributed towards the distribution cost involved in getting the books to the Department of Education in the Free State.

The Biblionef team is extremely appreciative for all the support received through this wonderful Mandela Day initiative.
